hey! welcome to the blog.

Kinston High beat the socks off their opponent yesterday to win their Sectional Play-offs. We went to cheer the team on and took McG along. It was her first live sports event. She had a blast! It helped that we were watching one of her favorite babysitters, Hayley help lead the team to victory!

Lady Vikings Win! | Kinston High School

This mini trampoline was a gift from Papa and Grandma and it is going to get a lot of use! I may be just as excited as McG about this present because I know how much fun it will be for her. Some of my best childhood memories took place while jumping around a trampoline […]

Trampoline! | thirty photos in thirty days

Yesterday was McG’s third birthday! When Josiah joked and told her she was an old lady, she excitedly said, “I’m not a woman anymore!” We cracked up laughing. For some reason, she thinks being a “woman” is bad, but being a “lady” is good. I think it has to do with me telling her to […]

My little lady turns three!

I spent yesterday taking portraits of this very friendly group of students and mentors from the Kinston Classical Conversations for my first ever “School Picture Day.” They are such a fun group and did amazingly in front of the camera. The group shot was a bit challenging, but all I had to do was pull […]

Classical Conversations | School Picture Day | Kinston

Here in North Caroline, we are beginning to see the signs of Spring. I ventured out into our backyard around dusk and got these shots of the buds on the trees. I love Spring! I’d love for you to share your favorite sign of Spring in the comments below.

We’ve had a wild time for the past week with a birthday party, trips to Durham, and lots of family in from out of state! Our little guy had some quality time with his Papa. Here are some photos of my dad doing “eye-winker, tom-tinker” with him. It’s always special to see your parents play […]

a boy and his papa | Thirty photos in thirty days

Yesterday, we had about 20 munchkins between the ages of four months and five years old in our house at one time. Some may say we are crazy (I kinda had similar thoughts the night before), but we had a blast! We had a little picnic in the living room, very hungry caterpillar cake pops, […]

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Party of the decade!!!

We visited the Museum of Life and Science in Durham today where photographic opportunities abound! What an excellent place! The whole day is not nearly enough to see everything, and we could only stay until nap time. I took a lot more photos than this, but in honor of McG’s Very Hungry Caterpillar party this […]

Butterflies | Museum of Life and Science, Durham | Thirty photos in Thirty Days

Josiah and I celebrated Valentines Day today and he took me to Anthropologie and Ruth’s Chris in Durham. It was an expensive day. We don’t normally splurge, but we let ourselves just this once. Our senses almost had a conniption. Now, I had never been to Anthropologie before, and I had really, REALLY wanted to […]

My Journal | Thirty photos in Thirty Days | personal

I love tea, so yesterday (I’m a day behind, sorry!) I decided to take some photos of a teacup from a set I inherited from a great aunt. I love the details!
