The main goals of every family portrait session I shoot is to capture the emotions and personalities of each person in the family and the connection between them all. Our kids are all friends and go to Classical Conversations together so the kiddos automatically felt comfortable around me, which gives us a head start for the session.
With four children, the differences in each sibling can be highlighted by the contrasting personalities of the others. I love that! It is so fun to see what stage each child is going through and then talk about how the other children went through that stage differently.
During this session, we got a special glimpse at the three year-old boy stage, which I am VERY familiar with (we have a three year-old little guy at home ourselves and we know what a fun challenge they can be). I know for a fact that I have never laughed so hard with any clients as I did with this family. My assistant Mary and I had such a good time.
These kids are precious, obviously, and I have loved getting to know this family in a new way in front of the camera. AND I am so thankful we get to do life with them as fellow homeschoolers! I absolutely love how these portraits turned out. I hope you do, too!
