Let’s talk about staying creative during quarantine without getting our hands dirty. Did you know that creativity is much more than art?! Creativity means thinking outside the box to create something new. The Latin root of the word “creative,” means “to beget, give birth to.” To me, the word innovative comes to mind. We have had to think of some new ways to keep our minds active and creative while we are stuck at home. Thankfully, we have the world at our finger tips!
I have heard about these virtual tours that have been offered around the world and decided to check a few out and share them here. I also wanted to give you a little glimpse at the local artwork we have around our hometown. I did a shoot with my team last Spring at the SmART Gallery in Kinston! So go on, dive in and be inspired!

Or maybe something a little more tropical with 360 degree tours of Hawaii including the sounds of the waves crashing on the sand to native songs at sunrise: 360 Tours of Hawaii
Kinston, North Carolina has several galleries and outdoor installments, along with active artist studios that you can tour when we all are free to roam again! Here’s a little sneak peek with my senior team. You can see more from this shoot here: Class of 2020 Style Team // Art Gallery Portrait Shoot
Thank you to these amazing girls for committing to represent my portrait work around the community. You are all amazing!
Thank you to Amanda Brinkley for make-up styling! And thank you to all the SmART artists and local artists who are making our city more beautiful and fun! A special thank you to Kimberly Garland, MSW for her beautiful multimedia installment “Don’t Forget to Remember,” which is a large mixed media piece consisting of repurposed egg crates and paint.
