Just before Christmas, our good friends, Jake and Ashley were surprised to find out that their little Charis was going to be born… at 29 weeks. Needless to say, she gives the word “miracle” another level of meaning to them. She was born under 2 pounds, but look at her now! Her precious plump cheeks are full and pinch-able! She is a strong little lady and has been through so much.
She has had so many cheerleaders during her little life so far – two being her sweet grandmothers! It was so fun to include them in this newborn session. Any parents and grandparents who have had an experience sitting in the NICU waiting for a baby to be sent home can understand the special bond that has formed between these grandmas and their new granddaughter.
As Jake and Ashley cuddled with Charis during the session, the time was especially sweet because they had to wait so long to hold her in their arms for the first time and spent many hours in prayer for the day when she would look up at them and smile – full of joy, strength and life.
Life is a gracious gift from God – it is delicate and invaluable. This little family of three knows this and continues to rejoice in the goodness of God.
Jake and Ashley, we are so thankful for your friendship and rejoice with you that Charis is so healthy and strong! Thank you for working with me! It was a pleasure. Love y’all!
