Senior Shoots are never boring. I do my best to offer a fun and unique experience that shows the senior’s personality and energy, and sometimes, that is not easy. There is something about that big black box (a.k.a. my Canon) that stiffens people. This was definitely not the case with Molly. There were quite a number of times when she broke out into song…I may have helped a little by providing the soundtrack to Wicked and Rent… but I don’t think she really needed that. There was also a point when she, her mom and my assistant, Elizabeth, were shaking it like a polaroid picture in an alley… at night… in downtown Kinston. I’m pretty sure that’s not a regular occurrence.
Molly loves the theater so we spent part of the session at the Grainger Hill Performing Arts Center, where Molly has performed several times. It was fun to talk about all the memories she had there. She is ending this phase of her life and moving to a bigger… stage… sorry, I know that’s kinda sappy, but I had to say it. In the Fall, she is joining the Wolfpack! She told me all about the details of moving up to NC State. She already wears her red and black with pride.
I have confidence that Molly will thrive at NC State and have a terrific experience in college. I’m a little giddy for her as she steps out of Kinston and into Raleigh – it is such an exciting time of life for her!
Congratulations, Molly! I absolutely loved working with y’all! I just smile when I see these portraits. I hope you love them, and they will help remind you of home and your pup while you are at NC State having a ball! Michael and Mary, you have such a beautiful and talented daughter! I can’t wait to see what she does next!
Also, Elizabeth, thank you, as always, for your sharing your amazing comedic talents. You’re awesome.
