A morning walk through a meadow is definitely a nod to Elizabeth Bennet, and it is a refreshing start to the day – especially when it involves a Senior Shoot. Abby’s shoot was postponed from an afternoon to a morning because of all this crazy rain we’ve been having. (See her night shoot sneak peek here.) I just love the dreamy quality the morning light gives to the images. Abby is so gorgeous and her denim dress and boots equaled perfection in this lush green field. I had my eye on her earrings too! She has great taste!
We didn’t have to go far for a change of scenery – just down the street into downtown Kinston – I love that our downtown is set right in the middle of fields and forests. Abby told me she wanted some of that vintage rundown urban appeal to her senior portraits, and her modern eclectic sense of style is an awesome contrast to these old buildings.
The easiest part of this session was getting Abby to smile and the hardest part was getting her to stop. Being a model for the first time always takes a little getting used to, but Abby quickly got into the groove. With her high energy and artistic eye, she barely needed any instruction.
It is hard to stop doing shoots for a while as I prepare for our third baby, but I was so thrilled to have Abby as my last client. There’s nothing like going out on a high note. I believe this is one of my favorite shoots of all time.
Abby, I am head over heels for these images and I hope you are too! I am so excited for you to see them. I pray God blesses you in your last year in high school. Don’t let it go too fast! I look forward to seeing you go amazing places! It was so wonderful and a complete blast working with you, your mom, and your dad J
