Happy Easter! These three words are what Easter means to me.
I spent my quiet time early Good Friday morning thinking about what this means. It is not the love that people think of or exhibit naturally. It is a self-sacrificing, righteous, pure, active, stable, more-than-a-feeling kind of love. Emotions and chemicals do not move it. It is not based on give and take. It is in no way equal on both sides.
This love came down from the highest position possible to be in the most vulnerable place ever known. All for us. Because of goodness and grace.
I know that this husband of mine, the three little lives God has used me to bring into this world, along with dear friends and those I’ve looked up to have shown me that the love I thought I knew is not even close to the real thing. I pray God continues to grow me in this love and that maybe I can show this love to those around me on a daily basis. I’m nowhere close now, but maybe when I’m eighty… I’ll be a little closer.
