July was such a renewing month. I spent most of my time visiting friends and family in the Midwest. There is just something about being with our families and college friends that draws us back to who we are and who we are called to be. It must be because they just accept us for who we are. They know us, our history and they were with us when we were finding ourselves.
I had a weekend away with two of my college roomies and bossom buddies, the two lovely ladies above, Lindsey and Nicole (yep, two Lindsa/ey’s, and p.s. Nicole is pregnant – yay!). We traveled up to Port Clinton, Ohio on Lake Erie and just explored, picnicked and ate lots of yumminess. We spent a lot of time in the car, which to some people would not be great fun, but I would not have changed a thing. It was just so natural. We got to be goofy together, reminisce and talk about some real stuff going on in our lives now. Uh! I just miss these girls.
I had a lot of time to thinking while on our journey, and the interesting thing was, for the first time, I realized that our community in Kinston gives us this same feeling. They have become our family. They have walked with us in some of the hardest times of our lives. I missed Kinston and now I know without a doubt that this is our home. It made me excited to get back into our life here and we jumped right in as soon as we got home.
I am very thankful that August is going to be a little bit slower paced compared to July. I plan on getting some things accomplished and here they are.

Alright! If you post your goals somewhere online, please feel free to share a link in the comments below. Thanks for reading, it really keeps me motivated!
