So… a lot has been going on around here! The most exciting thing is we sold our house!!! We signed the papers on Tuesday and I’ve wanted to shout it from the mountain tops ever since. Facebook and this blog are my mountains so… PRAISE GOD!!! WE SOLD OUR HOUSE!!!
It has been such a journey since we first bought the house. It has been on the market for 5 years this month. It may sound really strange, but I honestly would not change any of our circumstances over the past five years even if I could have. They were definitely not what I had planned out for us (see what I mean here and here), and I am so thankful that God is such a loving God and he is faithful even in the smallest details.
I know now that when things do not go the way we want, even when it hurts, that is not proof that God is not faithful. It is exactly the opposite. We must hurt and we must face trials in this life to come out better after it is all over. We must be refined in order to show God’s glory on this earth (Isaiah 48:10-11).
I am going to dispel the myth right now. Christians do not have perfect lives. It is not all sunshine and roses. It is hard. And if you choose to be a Christian you must realize that there is a cost. But the cost is sooo worth the reward.
To those who aren’t Christians, please realize that we are just people trying to do our best in this life. We make mistakes, we hurt each other, we make wrong choices, we speak with the wrong tone, we say stupid things, we act hypocritical, we act self-righteous, we judge when we shouldn’t, we gossip and so on. I’m not saying any of that is right. In fact, I am boldly going to say that we constantly fail at the task that is ours as Christians. The task is loving God and loving others.
But somehow, God is still winning. I hope you can look past our failing attempts at showing you Jesus and see the true light of the world. Try to look at the good that he does in our lives. Alright, can you tell I’m a little passionate about this. I say these things only because I love you. I could go on, but I digress. If you do want to talk about this, please message me. I would also like to hear what you think about it.
Back to business, it’s June and we’re half way through 2012. Can you believe it!? I like to take this month to regroup and see if the goals I set are truly realistic. Usually they’re not. So in light of that, here are my goals for June.
Since we are over a week into June, I crossed off what I’ve accomplished – that always feels good!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! If you have goals, please share in the comments!
