psalm 31 | make it a good monday

Just let that sink in. It is not necessarily about someone’s death, but it could be bad news, frustration, a mistake you’ve made, guilt you are carrying, an argument… what is it for you? What are you mourning? Why are you wearing a sackcloth? Mordecai wore a sackcloth when he found out that his people would be annihilated. That’s really bad news.
I think of it this way, we found out that all mankind is destined to suffer for eternity, but God reached down and gave us the greatest gift of all, grace, so we could experience his steadfast love, that’s never-failing, always-surrounding-us, filling-the-earth love. The only thing we have to do is believe and accept the truth (Jesus is our savior from certain death) with our glory (that’s our whole being, heart, soul and mind).
Now, doesn’t that make you want to dance and give thanks to God forever? Oh, and “Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love…” That’s Psalm 33:18. He sees you in your mourning and he wants to hold you in his steadfast love.
