Goldsboro Portraits of Senior & Her Horse

Goldsboro Portraits of Senior & Her Horse

Arden // Class of 2019 A  beautiful girl with her beautiful horse. Arden is passionate about riding. She competes in Hunter Jumper competitions, which requires lots and lots of training and practice. She loves this beautiful horse, Vegas. He is amazingly trained and behaved beautifully, but he was quite suspicious of my equipment and it made him a little uneasy. Arden and her trainer were so patient as we tried to capture Vegas with his ears pointed forward and his legs bent properly. They were also adventurous and found us some amazing spots on the farm. My favorite has to be inside the barn. Then, we let Vegas take a breather and headed into downtown Goldsboro for some solo senior portraits of Arden. The girl can work it! I love getting those action shots crossing the street and getting some edgier ones in her leather jacket against that striped wall. This was a session for the books! Lee Ann & Arden, it was such a pleasure working with y’all this year. You & Vegas made a wish of mine come true. I hope I did the same for your senior portrait dreams! Thank...

// Cailyn // Class of 2019 “For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.” – Audrey Hepburn This girl lives out that quote. Cailyn is the kind of girl who will link arms with her friends and speak words of encouragement to them. She is slow to speak and quick to listen and her words are soft and sweet. She also has the ability to stand up in front of an audience of 100’s (and more) and sing her heart out. Right now, she is probably finishing up her final performance of her high school play, Little Mermaid. You guessed it, she is Ariel. She shares many traits with her character. She loves deeply and is not afraid to go after her dreams. I cannot wait to see where this girl goes after swimming outside our little hometown pond. After all, “Flipping your fins, you don’t get to far. Legs are required for jumpin’, dancin’, strollin’ along down a (What’s that word again?) street…”       Cailyn, thank you so much for being on my senior style team! I’ve loved getting to know you! You are so encouraging and thoughtful. I appreciate the time that you’ve spent on everything with me this year among the busyness of life! I know you are going to thrive in the coming years! Enjoy your next...

// Whitlee // Kinston Field and Downtown Portraits

Lemme tell you a little story about this beautiful girl. I’ve known Whitlee for a long time… and yet somehow… I still thought she was a senior last year! Basically what had happened wuz… she hung out with a bunch of girls from the class of 2018. Needless to say, I was a little hurt when she didn’t apply for my team… and all of them did. I was like, “who is she working with???!!!” Then, when the applications for the class of 2019 Style Team started rolling in last March, I saw her application! I literally said out loud, “OHHHHH!” And I have gotten to hang out with this jewel since last March! One thing about her that shines through is her loyalty to her friends. I’ve loved watching her overcome the sadness of losing her besties to college last year and pouring in to the friends she still had around her. Whitlee often bridges the gap between people. She is welcoming to others, because she knows what it is like to be welcomed.  Her killer smile and her stunning blue eyes only help those around her feel loved and encouraged. She has been such a stellar member of my 2019 team and now she’s ready to join her Wolfpack! #ncstateclassof2023 If you’d like to be considered for the LCP Style Team, please head over to the Style Team page to apply!       Whit, you are amazing, girl! I cannot wait to see the impact you make at State! I’ve loved getting to know you and your sweet mama this year! Keep in...
Payton // Class of 2018 // Senior Shoot & Cap and Gown

Payton // Class of 2018 // Senior Shoot & Cap and Gown

One of the first thing’s Payton told me when we talked about her senior shoot was that she loved photography. So of course, I told her to bring her camera to her session! I loved incorporating that part of her life into her senior portraits. We were on the farm, so we had some interesting subjects (the goats weren’t very cooperative either), but we had fun grabbing some action shots. By the time, she put on those converse & her flannel, she was super comfortable being on the other side of the camera. And I may or may not have made her do some twirls, but the tire swing – that was all Payton! We got to have more fun at her cap and gown shoot a few weeks later – that cap toss is a lot harder than it looks. It’s like throwing a kite. Kris & Payton, thank you so much for choosing me to capture this special year for you! I loved getting to know you!  I hope you cherish these portraits for years to come....
Cameron’s Senior Portraits // APA 2018

Cameron’s Senior Portraits // APA 2018

Here’s a little tidbit about me. I started out as a newspaper photographer, and covered a TON of sports. Even though that’s not really what I wanted to do, I saw the stories in it, and y’all know I love stories. The action shots of the game and the passion behind why people play speak volumes. Cameron may not have had an opponent that day (his only challenge was not hitting my camera with his aces), but his focus and concentration are always there on the court & the field. It was perfect that we started the portraits out there, where he is most at home, and then headed downtown to get a little outside his comfort zone. Here’s a secret, sessions with high school guys… are a challenge I love. I love seeing them transform from stiff to at ease in front of the lens. I love to bring out the Abercrombie model in these guys who claim “they don’t like pictures” or the ones who are there for their moms. Cameron was definitely there for his mom – he’s not the kind of guy who posts selfies. He completely surprised me, though! He was up for anything. He was patient and had great ideas. He even did a jumping shot (which always end up as a favorite.) He also can do a “fake laugh” like a champ. Cameron, Jimi & Mark, I had such a fun time with y’all that day! Graduation is just a few short days away – can you believe it? Thank y’all so much for trusting me to capture this pinnacle time in...
