Town and Country Senior Shoot // Kinston Senior Portraits

Ashlyn // Class of 2019 Ashlyn is sweet and dedicated. She is one of my 2019 Style Team members, so I’ve gotten to work with her for over a year! One of the first things I learned about her is that she is at dance 6 days a week! She fell in love with dance after going to her first competition and never looked back. She drives back and forth to Durham weekly to be part of the OM Grown Dancers family. I love how passionate she is about dance while still maintainsing her laid-back attitude about life. We tried to capture a little bit of that at her senior shoot in downtown Kinston and then out in the country. I’m so excited to see her blossom and grow as she continues to pursue her dance career. Ashlyn & Jennifer, I have loved working with y’all this year and getting to know Ashlyn on the style team! Thank you so much for sharing this year with...

Ballerina Outdoor Senior Portraits // Kinston Senior Photographer

Pancake tutus have to be one of the prettiest ballet costumes. Brianne played the part of the Sugar Plum Fairly in the Nutcracker performed at the Goldsboro Paramount Theatre. When she told me she wanted to incorporate her ballet costume into her senior portrait shoot, I just about squealed. We started the session out in a golden field out on the farm. The colors and sunlight were perfect. Then we headed downtown and she brought some pointe shoes, a warm-up and a sweater to get some really creative dance shots. I love the portraits we got of her on the stairs and in the alley. She is a magnificent dancer and I am so grateful she invited me to capture these beautiful dance portraits along with her senior portraits. Brianne, you are a beautiful dancer and young lady! I am excited for this next adventure for you! Laura, thank you so much for working with me for her senior session! It was a...

Violinist Senior Portraits // Kinston Senior Portraits

Wrenn McCrae // APA Class of 2019 The first time I saw Wrenn McCrae, she was on a stage with her violin in hand playing a beautiful melody. As a violinist myself, I always love seeing young women share their passion for their music. And last night I got to watch Wrenn McCrae perform her senior dance recital with Studio 86, where she began dancing as a preschooler. My little dancer has been able to look up to her for the past 4 years as she has danced at the same studio, and I could not choose a better role model. With one of the sweetest smiles in town, Wrenn McCrae has won the hearts of her audiences since she first stepped onto that stage. It was a joy to work with her and her family for her senior portraits in downtown Kinston. We found some perfect spots to include her violin in some of the portraits and accentuate her creativity as a musician and dancer.       Wrenn McCrae & Amy, thank you so much for sharing this special year with me. I am so excited to see where you go from here, Wrenn McCrae! Amy, I will definitely be coming to you for more advice on parenting girls. Love...

// Cailyn // Class of 2019 “For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.” – Audrey Hepburn This girl lives out that quote. Cailyn is the kind of girl who will link arms with her friends and speak words of encouragement to them. She is slow to speak and quick to listen and her words are soft and sweet. She also has the ability to stand up in front of an audience of 100’s (and more) and sing her heart out. Right now, she is probably finishing up her final performance of her high school play, Little Mermaid. You guessed it, she is Ariel. She shares many traits with her character. She loves deeply and is not afraid to go after her dreams. I cannot wait to see where this girl goes after swimming outside our little hometown pond. After all, “Flipping your fins, you don’t get to far. Legs are required for jumpin’, dancin’, strollin’ along down a (What’s that word again?) street…”       Cailyn, thank you so much for being on my senior style team! I’ve loved getting to know you! You are so encouraging and thoughtful. I appreciate the time that you’ve spent on everything with me this year among the busyness of life! I know you are going to thrive in the coming years! Enjoy your next...

// Whitlee // Kinston Field and Downtown Portraits

Lemme tell you a little story about this beautiful girl. I’ve known Whitlee for a long time… and yet somehow… I still thought she was a senior last year! Basically what had happened wuz… she hung out with a bunch of girls from the class of 2018. Needless to say, I was a little hurt when she didn’t apply for my team… and all of them did. I was like, “who is she working with???!!!” Then, when the applications for the class of 2019 Style Team started rolling in last March, I saw her application! I literally said out loud, “OHHHHH!” And I have gotten to hang out with this jewel since last March! One thing about her that shines through is her loyalty to her friends. I’ve loved watching her overcome the sadness of losing her besties to college last year and pouring in to the friends she still had around her. Whitlee often bridges the gap between people. She is welcoming to others, because she knows what it is like to be welcomed.  Her killer smile and her stunning blue eyes only help those around her feel loved and encouraged. She has been such a stellar member of my 2019 team and now she’s ready to join her Wolfpack! #ncstateclassof2023 If you’d like to be considered for the LCP Style Team, please head over to the Style Team page to apply!       Whit, you are amazing, girl! I cannot wait to see the impact you make at State! I’ve loved getting to know you and your sweet mama this year! Keep in...
Hannah’s Senior Portraits // Class of 2019

Hannah’s Senior Portraits // Class of 2019

Hannah is who she is and she’s not afraid of that. And she will be the one to tell her friend she has something in her teeth, probably in front of everyone. Hannah speaks her mind and keeps everyone around her on their toes and in stitches (that means “keeps them laughing” for all you non-southerners). Whether it’s her dry humor or blunt comments, she brings humor to otherwise awkward situations. I love it! She makes things more fun and keeps things real. There’s nothing fake about this girl. She also knows what she loves and makes it happen, like making sure to have sunflowers at her session when they are no longer in season. The pops of color and stars in her outfits perfectly symbolize her bold and sure attitude about life. I cannot wait to see what adventures await her. Hannah is a member of the 2019 Senior Style Team and I LOVE working with her. She adds a little bit of drama and flair to the dynamic of our group and team shoots. I am so thankful she is part of the team! Hannah & Denise! It has been such a pleasure getting to know you. I hope you cherish these images! Thank you so much for inviting me into your...
