When I entered the Kinston photographer scene in 2008, there was no one offering a customized senior portrait experience like I had, so I was determined to start the trend.

Back in 2001, I was a high school senior in Ohio, where senior portraits are a huge deal - a rite of passage, and for me, my senior portrait experience made me feel more confident in who I was because of the photographer behind the lens and my parents’ gift of that experience.

In case you're wondering,
There are some things I do NOT do:
- Air-brush skin— my retouch style is very natural…not plastic
- Remove every single hair that is out of place—a.ka. “helmet head”
- Sensual portraits—My motto is “modest is hottest.”
- Shoot with a flash— I use light that occurs naturally in the setting.
- Photoshop everything— just because I can do it, doesn't mean I will.
- Work on Sundays—that is my day of rest, sorry not sorry.
The season you choose determines -
- the colors that work best for the portraits
- the time we can do your session before the sunsets
- the clothes that work best for the temperature.
- when you will get your portraits back
Decide what season:
- CLOTHING SUGGESTIONS: Short sleeves, skirts, dresses and shorts.
- BACKGROUND COLORS: bright greens, yellows, and floral colors in rural areas.
- SESSION MONTHS & TIMES: August and September between 3:00 - 6:00pm at the latest.
- You will get your images back in September or early October.
SUMMER sessions
- CLOTHING SUGGESTIONS: Short or long sleeves, dresses, skirts, pants, and sweaters.
- BACKGROUND COLORS: Muted, yellows, greens, and browns in rural areas.
- SESSION MONTHS & TIMES: October & November between 1:30 - 4:30pm at the latest.
- You will get your images back in time for Christmas!

SPRING sessions
- CLOTHING SUGGESTIONS: Long or short sleeves, pants, light sweaters, jackets and skirts, dresses and sometimes shorts.
- BACKGROUND COLORS: bright greens, yellows, and floral colors in rural areas.
- SESSION MONTHS & TIMES: March and early April between 2:00pm - 6:00 pm at the latest.
- You will get your images back before graduation.
JUNE if you want a session in August, September, October or November. JANUARY if you'd like a session in March or April. Booking closes within a few weeks when all the spots are filled. Get on The List to be the first to book.
In your consultation & Planning Meeting we will talk about how you feel in front of the camera and I will put your mind at ease. I will give you tips and coach you through it. During your session you will forget all about the pictures themselves. We will do activities, and I will make sure you look your very best in the portraits - that is not your job! You are just going to be yourself. But– if you really don’t see at least 10 portraits that you love, I will re-shoot your entire session or refund your money.
I am a trained make-up stylist and offer make-up styling as an add-on to session packages. I can also refer you to a local make-up artist, which you can contact on your own. I recommend a very natural make-up look with an emphasis on skin matching and blending. You want to look like you in these portraits, so if you don’t wear a lot of make-up, don’t overdo it for your portraits. Bring out your natural beauty, don’t paint on your face.
I will provide you with a Session Style Guide that will walk you through steps on how to choose outfits for your session. We will also talk in detail during your Vision Meeting about each piece in your wardrobe from earrings to socks!
- I will email you a sneak peek within 3 business days after your session
- You get to see all your portraits at your Reveal about 10-12 business days after your session depending on the date and time you schedule your Reveal.
- At your Reveal, I will show you your proofs (lightly edited versions of your portraits) in a slideshow, and then we will look at each one closer so you can choose if it is a keeper or not.
- You will choose the keepers as your Digital Files. At least 10 Digital Files come with each package, & you can purchase additional Digital Files at the Reveal.
Session packages only include a certain number of digital files or credit to use toward files, but you have the opportunity to add more or all the final digital files as an extra purchase.
